Find answers to your questions about booking, pricing, and photo sessions for family and senior portraits.

When should I schedule my senior/family photo shoot?

We recommend Contacting Us to schedule your senior photo shoot at least 2-3 months in advance to ensure availability, especially during peak seasons like fall or spring. For family photos, booking a few weeks ahead is ideal, particularly around the holidays or special events.

How long will the photo shoot take?

Senior and family photo sessions typically last between 1 to 4 hours, depending on the number of outfits or locations, and the size of your family and how many groupings or poses you want.

What should I wear for the shoot?

For a senior photo shoot, bring a few outfit options that reflect your personality—think about different styles or settings (e.g., casual, formal, sports, hobbies). For family photos, coordinating colors work best, Stick to solid colors, soft patterns, and avoid clothing with logos or too many graphics.

Should I get my hair and makeup done before the session?

For senior photos, many people choose to get their hair and makeup professionally done to feel their best, but it’s not necessary. If you prefer a natural look, that’s perfectly fine! For family sessions, it’s up to you whether you’d like to schedule professional hair/makeup services. We do have hair and make-up teams that we recommend and that can be added to your package.

Do you offer any props or backdrops for the shoot?

Yes! We have a variety of props available, especially for senior photos, such as sports equipment, musical instruments, or other personal items that represent your hobbies or interests. For family photos, we can work with outdoor locations or simple backdrops, depending on your preference.

Can I bring my pets?

Absolutely! We encourage you to bring your pets for a more personal touch to your family photos, especially if they’re an important part of your life. Just let us know in advance so we can plan for the best way to incorporate them into the shoot.

What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

If your session is outdoors and the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will work with you to reschedule or move to an indoor location. We’ll monitor the weather leading up to your session and keep you informed about any changes.

How many photos will I receive?

You will receive all of the images taken during your sessions. Edited photos, as well as print items, are also available for purchase.

How long will it take to get my photos?

After your photo shoot, you can expect to receive your edited photos within 1-2 weeks. We’ll send you an online gallery where you can view and download your images. Rush options are available for an additional fee if you need them sooner.

How do I order prints or albums?

You’ll have the option to order prints directly through your online gallery, or we can help you design an album or print package based on your preferences. Print packages vary, and we offer a wide selection of high-quality prints, canvases, and framed photos (including tassle frames for senior photos.)

Can I request specific poses or locations?

Absolutely! We encourage you to share any specific ideas, poses, or locations that are meaningful to you. Whether it’s a favorite park, a family heirloom, or a senior’s hobby or sport, we’ll do our best to incorporate it into the session.

What if I’m nervous or camera shy?

Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Many people feel nervous before a photo session, but we’ll guide you through every step. We aim to create a relaxed and fun environment, so you can feel natural and confident in front of the camera. You’ll be surprised at how easy and enjoyable it is once we get started!

How do I prepare my kids for a family session?

For family sessions, it helps to keep things light and fun! Bring snacks, toys, or anything that will help your kids stay happy and engaged. We can also plan short breaks if needed to keep everyone comfortable. Let us know if you have specific concerns about younger children.

Do you offer mini sessions or discounted packages?

Yes! We offer mini-sessions during certain times of the year (e.g., holiday or spring) for those looking for a shorter, more affordable session. We also have discounted packages for families or seniors who book multiple sessions or referrals.

Can I share the photos on social media?

Yes, you are welcome to share your photos on social media! We only ask that you give credit to the photographer if you share your images. We’ll also provide you with social media-sized images for easy sharing.

Can we add additional people to the photo shoot?

Yes! If you’d like to include extended family or friends in your shoot, we can accommodate that. The more people will increase your session time and therefore the budget. Just let us know ahead of time so we can schedule extra time and plan the session accordingly.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations within 48 hours of the session may result in a cancellation fee, but we’ll do our best to accommodate reschedules based on availability.
